Three Turkish Drivers on the Podium in ETCC

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport and Ülkü Motorsport drivers represented Turkey successfully in the second round of the European Touring Car Cup (ETCC), held at the Slovakiaring in Slovakia on 20-21 June.

Ibrahim Okyay took the third step of the podium in the TC2 class, and finished eighth overall among 20 drivers, ahead of many cars from higher classes.

In the TC2T class, which featured three Turkish drivers, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport driver Aytaç Biter retired after contact with a rival caused a puncture, and after a long gap missed out on the podium he is accustomed to. Ülkü Motorsport drivers Ümit Ülkü and Galip Atar, both in BMW E90 320 TC cars, made it onto the podium by finishing second and third respectively.

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport and Ülkü Motorsport drivers will head straight to France's Paul Ricard circuit for the start of the third round of the ETCC on 27-28 June.
