İsmet Dönmez Cup Gets Under Way in Giresun

Round 1 of the Black Sea Off-road Platform İsmet Dönmez Local Cup is being organised by the 28 Off Road Club in Giresun on 25-26 July 2015. The event will be held on the former Tekel land in the Aksu district, one of the most scenic areas of Giresun, and is staged with the support of the Giresun Governorship, Giresun Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports. The course, which around 35 crews will battle over, has been prepared with great care to be easy to follow and highly enjoyable for spectators.

28 Offroad Club President Rehber Uzunalioğlu gave his views on the event: "The local cup, which will be run over three rounds, has been dedicated to our friend İsmet Dönmez, who suffered a serious health problem last year due to illness. The first round is being held in our province, the second round of the cup will take place in Ardeşen, Rize on 15-16 August, and the final will be held in Trabzon on 17-18 October. We wish our friend İsmet Dönmez a speedy recovery and hope to see him back among us in good health. At the end of the cup, the overall winner will receive 4,000 TL, the runner-up 3,000 TL and third place 2,000 TL, while class winners will be given surprise gifts at the gala to be held in December. With good weather expected, I invite all off-road enthusiasts who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city this weekend, and who want to have fun and witness plenty of excitement, to our event."
