Emir Aşarı on the Podium in VLN

Emir Aşarı, representing Turkey on the German circuits, secured a podium finish by taking second place in the eighth round of the VLN series, held at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
In the fifth race of the season, the crew had lost the BMW 325i for the last two races following a crash by team-mate Oliver Frisse. Reunited with the car, the crew started the race seventh among 20 cars after qualifying.
Frisse, the first to take the wheel in the four-hour race, worked his way up to fifth place before handing the car over to Emir. During their own stint, Emir fought for fourth place and pitted at the same time as a rival, handing the car over to team-mate Sindre Setsaas.
Although Setsaas took the chequered flag in fourth place, the cars that had finished first and second in the class were disqualified after the race for "using non-compliant parts". This allowed the Sorg Rennsport team to take a one-two in the V4 class, and Emir ended up on the podium in second place.
