Toktaş Takes Victory with Record Time
Round 5 of the 2018 Turkish Hill Climb Championship, the Orhangazi Hill Climb, was held on 6-7 October by Bursa Otomobil Sporları Kulübü (BOSSEK) with the support of Orhangazi Municipality and with 19 competitors taking part.
Over three runs on the 5.25-kilometre tarmac course, Hakan Ertarman took victory in Category 2 in a Renault Clio Ragnotti for BC Vision Motorsport, while Engin Apaydın, also in a Renault Clio Ragnotti, finished second and Tarık Gökçen, in a Ford Fiesta R2 for Ford Motorsport Turkey, took third.
In Category 3, Refik Bozkurt from Ankara came out on top in a duel between two Renault Clio Sports, with Tansel Tunca taking second.
In Category 4, İsmet Toktaş won in a Porsche 911 GT3 for BC Vision Motorsport, also setting both the course record and the fastest time of the day with a 02:49.41. BC Vision Motorsport won the teams' title, even though Buğra Banaz in a Ford Fiesta R2T and Cem Yalın in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX did not finish the event.
In the local classification, the winners were İlker Tecimoğlu in Category 1 in a Fiat Palio, Ersen Yıldız in Category 2 in a Ford Fiesta ST, Selçuk Yalçın in Category 3 in a Murat 131 and Anıl Özsevinç in Category 4 in an Opel Astra G.
