Legend Returns to the Stages

The legendary 34 YN 615 Ford Escort MKII rally car, which was raced in the 1980s by motorsport doyen Renç Koçibey and later passed to Mithat Diker, has returned to the stages after a long break.
The car, which ran as a course car at Koçarlı Hill Climb, the final round of the Aegean Cup organised by Aydın Automobile Sports Club (AYOSK), was refreshed ahead of the event.
Following the event, the Escort MKII is heading back to Bodrum to prepare for the new season, where it will be restored alongside the other MKII and MKI under the Ege Asal Metal Motorspor banner.
Izmir businessman Mithat Diker, who has served and supported motorsport for many years as a competitor, sponsor and administrator, plans to compete in the Turkish Historic Rally Championship events that fit his schedule in the 2023 season.
