BOM Continues Its Support for Young Drivers

BOM Akademi, launched by Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) in 2015 as a social responsibility project and which has so far given driving training to around 2,500 participants, is taking another important step. Young drivers Barkın Bayhan and Batur Kızıltepe caught the attention of the team managers after completing the Performance Driving Training course in 2016, and gained circuit experience racing in the BOM Akademi Cup organised in the 2017 season. They will now start rounds five and six of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship at the Serres circuit in Greece with BOM Akademi support, in a BMW M4 GT4 race car.
Describing an exciting preparation period, Batur Kızıltepe said ahead of the race: "I gain new experience with every kilometre and every race. I'm progressing step by step thanks to the races I've entered since completing the training, and to the BOM Akademi instructors who share their experience with us. Starting in the TPŞ with the BMW M4 GT4 is a huge opportunity for me and genuinely exciting!"
Barkın Bayhan also gave his view on the subject: "Batur and I started out as two amateur car enthusiasts. Now we're two racers who want to show how far those who are keen on this sport can go if they get the right training from the right people to point them in the right direction."
You can follow BOM Akademi events on its social media accounts and website, and take part by choosing one of the training courses that suits you.
