Berkay Joins Clio Cup Italia

Young national driver Berkay Besler, who achieved one of the most important results of a career by finishing third in last season's Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final, has announced that he will compete in the Renault Clio Cup Italia series in the 2017 season...

The 1999-born driver, who has so far finished 135 national and international races on the podium and has gone 75 races in a row without being overtaken, will make his series debut at the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic on 10-11 June.

Berkay, who will compete with the backing of DYO and Coşkunöz Holding, summed up his thoughts on the programme: "After 10 years of karting, I'm a little excited because this will be the first race where I get behind the wheel of a car. We believe the series will give us a great deal of experience, and I'm ready to do the best I can to get good results."

The remaining rounds of the series, all of which will be held in Italy, will take place at Monza on 25 June, Misano on 16 July, Vallelunga on 10 September and Imola on 1 October.
