Ayhancan Güven Takes Second at Spa

Turkish driver Ayhancan Güven finished round five of the Porsche Supercup, held on 28-29 August at Belgium's famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit, in second place after starting from sixth.

The race, contested by 32 drivers from different countries across 11 teams, was run in the rain, as qualifying had been. Rising to fifth at the start and staying close to the leading group, Güven kept clear of the incidents and climbed all the way to second. Also holding the fastest lap, Ayhancan was the quickest driver on the track and impressed with the pace. On lap 10 of the 11-lap race, the Red Bull driver engaged in a door-to-door fight with team-mate and leader Dylan Pereira, and finished this demanding race in second place to bank valuable points. After the Spa race, run as a support event for the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix, Larry Ten Voorde continues to lead the standings with 99 points, with Jaxon Evans second on 79 points, Dylan Pereira third on 57 points and Ayhancan Güven fourth on 54 points.

The Porsche Supercup continues with round six at Zandvoort on 4-5 September.
