Ayhancan Güven, 21, who has represented Turkey with success on circuits around the world for three seasons with the backing of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Youth and Sports, Spor Toto and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), has been selected as a Porsche Junior driver for 2020.Ayhancan Named Porsche Junior DriverChosen from 12 candidates under the age of 25 from across the world at a three-day camp in Portugal, Güven will fight for the title in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2020. Güven has also written his name into motorsport history once again as the first factory-backed Turkish driver to race on circuits.
Ayhancan Named Porsche Junior DriverGüven won the Benelux and France series titles in 2018 and repeated the France title in 2019, while also finishing runner-up in the Supercup and taking the rookie title in his first season in the series. The young driver said: "Being here was a dream, and after long and intense work I am starting a brand-new chapter in my career. I have been working for 17 years to reach this point and I am delighted that we have made it. My endless thanks go first to our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who gave me the opportunity to race, and to the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation, as well as to my family, who have always been by my side throughout this process, and to everyone who has supported me."
