National racing driver Ayhancan Güven, supported by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation and Spor Toto, claimed one of the most important international achievements in the history of Turkish motorsport with a double championship win at Paul Ricard in France.
Historic Success for Ayhancan GüvenCompeting in the joint Porsche Carrera Cup France and Benelux season finale on 13-14 October, Güven won the first race on Saturday 13 October to make the nation proud as the 2018 Porsche GT3 Cup Benelux Champion. Starting the Porsche Carrera Cup France finale level on points with Italian rival Alessio Rovera, Güven held off his rival's attacks for 30 minutes, right up to the final lap, to take the podium. With the result, Ayhancan Güven added the Porsche Carrera Cup France championship trophy to his Benelux title, becoming the first foreign driver to win the championship in Porsche Carrera Cup France, which has run since 1987 and is regarded as one of the world's most prestigious and fiercely contested single-make cups.

Following Ayhancan Güven's historic achievement in motorsport, Turkish Automobile Sports Federation President Serkan Yazıcı said: "With the valuable contributions of our Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Spor Toto Organisation Presidency, Ayhancan has represented our country successfully and has proved how successful our young people can be on the world stage if they are given the opportunity. We congratulate our young driver from the bottom of our hearts and we believe these successes will be a milestone in motorsport." He added that the federation would continue to support young people.
