Ayhancan On The Podium In Formula Alfa

Young national driver Ayhancan Güven, who is competing in the Lassa V1 Challenge and Formula Alfa series this season, was at the Rustavi circuit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 25-26 July for the fourth round of the Formula Alfa series.
Ayhancan finished on the podium in third place twice across the two separate races held on Saturday and Sunday in Round 4, underlining the strength of the challenge in a series where the pace is picking up with every passing day.
Ayhancan described the weekend: "On Saturday, because of another problem with my car, I didn't get the chance to set a qualifying lap, and David Kajaia, who also had a problem with his car, and I started the race from the back row. With the good start I made, I began to move up towards the front. The safety car came out twice during the race, which stopped the leading group from pulling away. In the final laps I gained a few more places and finished Saturday's race in third. On Sunday, in 40-degree heat, I did three laps in qualifying to look after my tyres and engine, and that earned me a start from fifth on the grid. At the start of the race I gained two places and settled into third. After that I found the pace I wanted, pulled away from the group behind and caught the two cars ahead. In the closing laps I moved up to second, but I couldn't hold on to the position and took the chequered flag in third. By standing on the podium in both races at the fourth weekend of the season, I have left behind a good weekend."
We congratulate our young driver and wish success in the remaining races of the series...
