Ayhancan Hit by Electrical Failure

Young national driver Ayhancan Güven, who is competing in the Lassa V1 Challenge and Formula Alfa series this season, was at the Rustavi circuit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 20-21 June for the third round of the Formula Alfa series.
Looking quick and motivated in practice and qualifying, the driver failed to reach the chequered flag in either race because of an electrical failure. Ayhancan summed up the weekend as follows:
"Because of an electrical failure in the middle of Saturday's qualifying, I ended the session early, and even so I was third. We worked on the engine right up until the race, but because of the same fault I couldn't take the start in the first race.
"On Sunday the weather was hotter. We fixed the electrical problem from the day before and found our old pace. I was second in the morning warm-up and third in qualifying. I made a very good start to the race and the three of us pulled clear as a leading group. On lap 4 the electrical fault in the engine returned, and because of that we couldn't complete the race. On a weekend when I was this quick, unfortunately we scored no points in either race. My next race will be round four of Formula Alfa, again at the Rustavi circuit, on 25-26 July."
