Ayhancan Makes History in Britain

Backed by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, Spor Toto, the Turkish Motorsport Federation (TOSFED) and Pierre Martinet, 21-year-old national athlete Ayhancan Güven left Silverstone with victory in round four of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup.
Güven set the fastest time in qualifying with a 2:02.288 in the 30-driver field, and in doing so also broke the circuit record, once again drawing all eyes to himself.

In the race run on Sunday 14 July 2019, ahead of round 10 of the Formula 1 World Championship, the British Grand Prix, our representative started from pole position and led for all 13 laps to take the win. The first driver across the line under the chequered flag, Ayhancan Güven collected the winner's trophy and had the Turkish national anthem played on the podium, becoming the first driver in the championship's history to win a race in the first season.
The Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, regarded as the world's most competitive single-make series and run as a support series ahead of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship races since 1992, continues with round five at Germany's Hockenheim circuit on 27-28 July.
