Ayhan Tests the M4 GT4 at Körfez

The opening round of the 2018 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship took place on 12-13 May at the TOSFED Izmit Körfez Race Track. After a TOSFED bulletin allowed GT4-series cars to compete in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport arrived at Körfez with the BMW M4 GT4 it is racing in this season's European GT4 series...
Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport, competing with the backing of Shell, Borusan Lojistik, Glasurit, Sofra Grup, Özüaydın, Cesan, Securitas and Technogym, lined up at Körfez with experienced national driver Fatih Ayhan, both to work on the car's suspension settings and to test the GT4 car's performance in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship's maxi group.
At the season's first circuit event, Fatih Ayhan took third place in both races, finishing directly behind the GT3 cars among the 12 cars on the grid. With this result, Ayhan showed just how high the performance of the fairly standard GT4 cars can be. Ayhan, who described the BMW M4 GT4's handling and engine performance as particularly impressive, did not take the car to parc fermé after either race so as not to affect the points of the competitors following the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship season, and therefore scored no championship points.
