From Off-Road to Circuits: A Success Story

Beginning motorsport at a young age and continuing with off-road, trial and ATV-UTV, Bursa-born driver Çağlayan Çelik caught the eye in 2017 with his performances in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship and the V1 Challenge series.
Çelik began racing in karting at the age of 15 and, after finishing first in the Bursa Local Karting Cup in 2007, moved up to the Turkish Karting Championship. Although the young driver had to take a break from the sport for a while in later years because of his studies, he returned in 2012-2013 by taking part in various events in off-road and trial disciplines. After his off-road events, Çelik achieved strong results in the Turkish Enduro Championship ATV-UTV, finishing the 2015 season as runner-up in Turkey before going on to win the Turkish Championship title in 2016.
Keen to move from dirt to tarmac, the 26-year-old added numerous local cup races in 2016 to his circuit racing career, which continued with the V2 Challenge in 2015 and the V1 Challenge in 2016-2017. In 2016 he also provided sponsorship support to the Izmir Local Circuit Cup as Warmhaus. Alongside the local circuit cup races, Çelik continued to develop in one-make cups such as the Opel Corsa OPC Cup in 2016 and the Intercity Megane Cup in 2017.
For the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, Çağlayan Çelik agreed a deal with the Toksport WRT team, bringing Turkey's first current-specification TCR touring car, the Seat Leon. With the backing of Warmhause and Aloft Bursa, Çelik finished the season as runner-up in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship Super Group.
Aiming to continue his career in 2018 by competing in circuit racing both in Europe and in Turkey, the young driver also plans to carry on in one-make cups, with the goal of being in the fight at the top.
