Ali Türkkan Aims to Protect Championship Lead

The breathless battle of V1 Challenge, the Volkicar series featuring Turkey's first purpose-built racing cars, continues with Round 2 at Ülkü Park in Izmir on Sunday 20 August.
The second round of the six-round, 12-race cup will be run on Ülkü Park's 1550-metre circuit. Ahead of the race, in which 15 drivers will take the start, Ali Türkkan, who is supported by TOSFED as part of its young talent project, leads the standings, with Çağlayan Çelik second and last year's champion Burak Çukurova following.
The programme begins at 12:30 on Sunday 20 August with practice sessions, followed by qualifying. The day's first race gets under way at 15:00, and the programme concludes with a second race in which the top 12 drivers will start in reverse order. All motorsport fans are invited to Ülkü Park in Izmir's Pınarbaşı to watch this action-packed contest live. The drivers, who will bring the Izmir heat to the track, can be watched free of charge.
