Ali Türkkan Joins Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport for Turkish Circuit Racing Championship

Founded in 2008 to contribute to the development of motorsport in Turkey and to promote the country abroad, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport is celebrating its 10th year on the circuits in the 2017 season.
BOM has represented Turkey in the 3H Endurance Champions Cup for the last three seasons with national drivers İbrahim Okyay, Aytaç Biter, Kaan Gürgenç, Levent Kocabıyık and Fatih Ayhan, and finished last year with a championship title in Italy. To support the development of motorsport in Turkey, the team will continue its young talent support programme this year by fielding Ali Türkkan in a BMW 320si in the Super Group of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship.
In previous seasons, BOM supported Kaan Önder from the age of 14 to 18 in karting, Formula BMW and the FIA ETCC. In 2017, by backing Türkkan, the team aims to launch a new BOM young talent project.

Having achieved important results in series such as karting, the V1 Challenge and RX Lites, Ali Türkkan drew all the attention this year with his fastest lap times at the Champions' Championship organised by TOSFED. At 17 years old, he is one of Turkey's most promising young drivers…
Team principal İbrahim Okyay commented on the project: "Supporting young talent has always been as important to BOM as representing our country abroad. Backing a 17-year-old driver demands effort and hard work from a team. As a whole team, we sincerely believe Ali deserves this support. Our aim this year is to help Ali gain experience in the Super Group of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship with the BMW 320si, and, by getting to know each other better, to build much more ambitious racing programmes for him together with TOSFED in the coming seasons."
