The draft 2023 regulations published on the official TOSFED website will remain open to comment until 17:00 on Friday 27 January 2023. After the TOSFED Sporting Commission's review meeting, they will be announced with the approval of the board of directors and come into force. We have compiled some of the notable changes in the regulations for you... 2023 Regulations AnnouncedThe first notable innovation in rallying is that, like the Young Driver and Young Co-driver championships, the Turkish Rally Masters Championships, open to competitors over the age of 50, will be introduced from this season. In this category, which will assess competitors born on 01.01.1973 or earlier, each rally will have a separate classification provided there are at least two entries, and at the end of the year a Masters Driver Champion and a Masters Co-driver Champion will be determined. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedOne change in the rally manufacturers' and teams' championships is that, before each rally, manufacturers and teams will have to notify TOSFED in writing of the 3 cars that will score points. Another eye-catching change is that the penalty applied to crews who breach the recce ban rises to 55,000.00 ₺ for a first offence and 110,000.00 ₺ for a second. The protest fee rises to 3,410.00 ₺, while the Appeal Fee for 2023 has been set at 24,200.00 ₺. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn Historic rallying, a Turkish Historic Rally Women's Driver Championship and a Turkish Historic Rally Women's Co-driver Championship are being added, while Rally2, Rally3, Rally4 and R5 class cars have been banned from the TOSFED Rally Cup, which will be held this season in memory of the late co-driver Erkan Bodur. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn the AVIS 2023 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship regulations, the use of slick tyres and tarmac rally tyres is banned in the Super group, while turbochargers and superchargers and all their components are required to be in their OEM factory-fitted form. Another change is the introduction of the Maxi and Super Group Women's Championships within the 2023 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship. Young drivers and women drivers will be able to carry additional points from rounds of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship into the manufacturers' and teams' championship. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn karting, which has recently stood out for rising participation in every category, the biggest change is that the teams' competition, which until now has held the status of a class win, will from the 2023 season be known as the Turkish Karting Teams' Championship title. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn off-road, which PETLAS has supported as title sponsor for 3 seasons, two separate 'champion' titles will be awarded from this season: Turkish Off-road Car Champion and Turkish Off-road SSV Champion. Another innovation in off-road racing is that women driver and women co-driver titles will be introduced from the new season. It is also clearly stated that crews are forbidden from pushing, pulling or helping one another with materials or equipment on special or normal stages, and Article 12.1.17 states that both the crews giving and receiving help will be excluded. A further article has been added stating that competitors and mechanics must refuel safely wearing fire-resistant clothing, with a fine equal to the event entry fee for any breach.2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn the Turkish Hill Climb Championship, cars that have long been split into 4 separate categories will compete in 5 categories in the new season. Drift cars, which have taken part in almost every event over the last two seasons, will compete in Category 5 in the AVIS 2023 Turkish Hill Climb Championship. From this season, a separate Women's Championship will be run in all 5 categories, provided there are at least two entries in each.2023 Regulations AnnouncedIn rallycross, which has been restored to Turkish Championship status after a long break, 5 events will be held during the season. As in hill climbing, a separate Women's Championship will be run in all 5 categories, provided there are at least two entries in each. 2023 Regulations AnnouncedAnother new championship this year will be baja, the rising star of motorsport. Run as the TOSFED Cup for 3 seasons, with interest growing by the day, baja will now crown 3 separate champions: Car Champion, SSV Champion and Truck Champion. Cars will again be divided into 4 classes by engine capacity, and strong interest is expected this season in the championship, which will consist of 4 events.
