Yücesan and Aşarı Take Flight at the Ring

Turkish Circuit Racing Championship driver Ersin Yücesan took a podium in the RCN series at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the category used to build experience for competing in the VLN series. Yücesan, who plans to race in the VLN in 2019, claimed his first RCN podium alongside Emir Aşarı, who has stepped up to the higher series this season on the back of his RCN results.

The experienced Aşarı was first out on track in the BMW 325 Coupe, running for Sorg Rennsport. Dropped from the pack by an accident ahead of him at the start of the race, Aşarı still managed to bring the car up to third before his stint ended. Yücesan, who took over from Emir, put in an impressive performance despite limited experience and moved the car up to second. Although the pair dropped to third after receiving a 4-second penalty, they still finished the race on the podium.
