Rising Stars Take to the Gulf Circuit
The second race of TOSFED Is Looking for a Star, organised by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation in cooperation with FIAT to discover talented drivers under the age of 25, was held at Körfez Race Track on 14-15 April as part of the Champions' Championship event. On Saturday 14 April, the young drivers, paired off by draw, worked hard on track to gain the upper hand over one another in a two-car start format.
Of the 12 drivers, Onat Telkenar, Erol Özteknik, Emre Şentürk and Mert Kaya advanced to the semi-finals. In the final head-to-head between Emre Şentürk and Onat Telkenar, Telkenar proved the quicker and, after winning the first race, took victory in the second race as well. Emre Şentürk finished second in the race, with Erol Özteknik in third.
The first stage of TOSFED Is Looking for a Star will conclude with the third race on 12-13 May 2018, held alongside the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, and the fourth race on 23-24 June 2018, held alongside the Turkish Karting Championship, both run in different formats at Körfez Circuit. The driver who collects the most points over these four races will continue their career as a TOSFED driver.
