New Season Opens with a Raid

Held since 2013, the Sarıkamış Winter Games will take place from 16-18 January in the Sarıkamış district of Kars. Staged with the support of the Sarıkamış District Governorship, Sarıkamış Municipality and the Serhat Development Agency (SERKA), the event stands out for hosting the first and only motorsport events on snow in Turkey.

The festival will begin with the official opening on 16 January of the ski centre, which has been renovated with the support of the Ministry of Culture and SporToto. Over the three days of the festival, a wide range of activities will take place in a single venue each day, including off-road rally raid events, rallycross demonstrations, remote-controlled car races, downhill bike demonstrations and races, skiing and snowboarding shows, sledge races, snowball fights, igloo building, downhill cheese rolling and blind man's buff games played in cars.

Many off-road competitors from across the country will take part in the raid organised by the EKSİ 36 club, the first off-road event of the season, and four crews from the TRNC will also enter.
