Vezirköprü Ready for Major Event

The next stop on the ICRYPEX-sponsored Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) 2022 national racing calendar is Samsun. The second round of the Petlas 2022 Turkish Off-road Championship will be hosted by the Vezirköprü Off-road Club in Samsun's Vezirköprü district on 13-14-15 May.
Held as part of the programme marking the 103rd anniversary of the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day on 19 May, the event will begin with a start ceremony at Vezirköprü Çamlık Park at 17:30 on Friday 13 May 2022. At the season's second round, which is expected to see fierce competition, the crews will tackle the endurance stage at Vezirsuyu Nature Park four times between 10:30 and 16:30 on Saturday 14 May 2022, before taking on the spectator stage at Vezirköprü İncesu three times between 10:30 and 14:30 on Sunday 15 May 2022 to settle their battles.
Vezirköprü Mayor İbrahim Sadık Edis said they were delighted to be organising the VEZİROFF Off-road Race, noting that following successful work with VEZİROFF the district had begun preparations for the major event. "We feel the excitement and pride of once again hosting one of the seven rounds of the Petlas 2022 Turkish Off-road Championship," he said.
Commenting on the event, Vezirköprü Off-road Club President Abbas Tasalı said the club fully believes in the promotional power of the sport. "Our club has hosted many national and local races in our city in previous years. Awarded 'Best Event of the Year' four times within the Turkish Off-road Championship, our club has taken part in many projects aimed at developing motorsport and promoting our region. Our Federation, which has recently put great effort and support into ensuring that motorsport receives the attention it deserves in our country and that disciplines such as off-road reach wider audiences, has included our club in the national racing calendar again for the 2022 season. As the Vezirköprü Off-road Club, we are confident that we will stage a successful event with the support of the public institutions in our region, our sponsors and our federation."
