Young Bursa-based driver Can Alakoç made his first start in Latvia, the only country in the world where rallying is permitted from the age of 14, in the opening round of the Baltic Passenger Car Championship held at the Bikernieki circuit on 29-30 April. The 2008-born driver finished second in the BTC1 class on debut in a Ford Fiesta R2, passing an important test on the way to competing as "Turkey's Youngest Rally Driver" in the Latvian Junior Rally Championship, where the World Rally Championship (WRC)'s rising stars are developed.14-Year-Old Rally Driver Hits the TrackIf Alakoç is also successful at the Riga Mini Rally on 7 May, he will earn his licence and follow the 2022 Latvian Junior Rally Championship under the coaching of Murat Bostancı as part of the "Drive to the Future" programme.
