V1 Excitement Hits Fever Pitch in Aydın

The fourth round of the V1 Challenge, now in its sixth year, took place in Aydın on Sunday 30 October and delivered the fierce competition that had been expected. The city race had a full festival atmosphere, with the people of Aydın enjoying the V1 excitement "street by street". At the races held in Aydın Malazgirt Square, the adrenaline quite literally went through the roof.
The round four programme began in the morning in front of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality and continued with the Volkicars making a city tour in convoy. The tour drew great interest from the people of Aydın, with colourful scenes along the streets of the city. Once the cars reached Malazgirt Square, the atmosphere began to heat up with official practice and qualifying. At the end of qualifying, Ayhancan Güven set the fastest time, while Burak Çukurova and Adem Çetmen earned the right to start from second and third respectively.
In the elimination races that followed, the Volkicars competed in groups of four, completing seven laps on a specially built circuit in Malazgirt Square. The friendly rivalry between the drivers did not go unnoticed either. The V1 drivers' intense battles gave the crowds filling the square a superb spectacle and won top marks from everyone.

The V1 Challenge, the adrenaline-filled race for the Turkish-built Volkicar racing cars, will continue on 13 November at the Izmit Körfez Racing Circuit.
