Transanatolia Starts from Izmir
Transanatolia, one of the toughest races in the world, will start from Fuar İzmir on Saturday 19 August and cover a total of 2,850km over seven days before finishing in Samsun.
Now in its seventh year, Transanatolia visits many of the country's increasingly forgotten regions along its route, giving participants the chance to discover history and nature while racing, and offering Turkish and international drivers a closely fought contest.
With vehicles competing in the motorcycle, 4x4, ATV and truck categories, this year's rally raid will welcome participants from Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, New Zealand, Argentina, Azerbaijan and Cyprus.
Starting in Izmir, the event will head across the Western Taurus Mountains, known as the Alps of Turkey, taking in Denizli, Antalya, Konya-Karapınar and Niğde-Aladağ, before turning north to Cappadocia and Tokat-Gümünek and finishing in Samsun.
Followed closely by many Turkish and international journalists, Transanatolia Rally Raid, supported by İzfaş, Fuar İzmir, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, Sportoto, BF Goodrich, Hytera, KTM, Globe Scout and Red Bull, will finish at Samsun Meydan on Sunday 26 August 2017.
