TransAnatolia Gets Under Way from Izmir

Transanatolia Rally Raid, Turkey's longest and toughest rally, has started from Izmir and will finish in Samsun. Now in its seventh year, Transanatolia is hosting dozens of Turkish and international competitors and team members.
The seventh Transanatolia Rally Raid, hosted by İzmir Fuarcılık Hizmetleri Kültür ve Sanat İşleri and starting from Fuar Izmir, will cover a total of 2,850 km over seven days before finishing in Samsun. Running across the Western Taurus Mountains, known as the Alps of Turkey, Transanatolia will pass through Denizli, Antalya, Konya-Karapınar and Niğde-Aladağ, followed by Cappadocia and Tokat-Gümünek, before arriving in Samsun.
The event features vehicles in the motorcycle, 4x4 car, ATV, buggy and truck categories, and this year dozens of Turkish and international drivers from Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, New Zealand, Argentina, Azerbaijan and Cyprus will take part.
Transanatolia started from Izmir's Gündoğdu Square on Saturday 19 August and will finish in Samsun's main square on 26 August.
