Tosun and Urgancı Make Fast Start

The first race of the 2019 season of the TOSFED Yıldızını Arıyor project, run by the Turkish Automobile Federation with the support of Fiat and Petlas, took place on 21-22 June. Doğa Tosun won the race at TOSFED Körfez Racing Circuit, with Reha Aybey second and Akın Can Kiper third. In the women's classification, Halide Kübra Urgancı was the fastest driver, while İrem Yeniçeri finished the race second.

This year, 604 candidates, 26 of them women, applied to the TOSFED Yıldızını Arıyor project. To give all participants the same chance, the selection rounds were held in 6 groups. After the training sessions and final selection rounds, the 10 male and 3 female drivers chosen earned the right to take part in the 2019 series, the first round of which was held on 21-22 June. The 2019 TOSFED Yıldızını Arıyor series consists of 4 races in total and uses Fiat Egea race cars prepared at Tofaş R&D. Its second race will be held at TOSFED Körfez Racing Circuit on 19 October.
