TOSFED Launches Road Safety Education Project

The How Is the Parent's Report Card? social responsibility project, aimed at primary school students and organised by the Women's Commission (TOSK) established within the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), began in Bursa on Thursday 8 December with the participation of rally driver Orhan Avcıoğlu and TV actress and co-driver Ecem Çalık...
The commission's project, put together by Beyza Avcıoğlu, Yeşim Bostancı, Ayşin Uysal, Didem Kargın, Çiçek Güney, Sedef Dündar and Emire Cantürk Eren – each of whom competed in motorsport for many years and still actively serves the sport – is also being supported by the Kükürtlü Lions and Karagöz Lions Clubs, under the leadership of Emire Cantürk Eren, Chair of the Lions 118K Management Region Traffic Awareness Development Committee.
Consisting of seminars to be given at schools selected in different provinces and targeting primary school students, the "How Is the Parent's Report Card" project started at TED Bursa College on Thursday 8 December and then continued at Bahçehir Bursa College. At the seminars, students were given basic information on road safety and motorsport, while the Ford Fiesta S2000 that Avcıoğlu competes in was put on display, and Volkicar and Bursa-based rally driver Tezcan Dalfidan performed a demonstration run.
As part of the project, participation forms will be distributed to students whose mothers drive, and the students are asked to assess whether their mothers follow the rules while driving. Once the seminars, which will continue in other provinces, are complete, the 20 most successful parents will receive free advanced driving technique training from expert instructors at the TOSFED Körfez Race Circuit.
