What Are the Title Contenders Thinking? – 3

Ahead of the "Champion of Champions" to be held at the İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track on 18-19 March with drivers from a range of disciplines taking part, we continue to publish the competitors' views…

BERKAY BESLER - KARTING
It is great to see an event like this back in our country after such a long time, and it will be a first for me. Racing against the best drivers in the country will be a good experience for me, and I will try not to make mistakes and to take something away from it for the future...

MURAT BOSTANCI - RALLY
When we were children, we used to watch the Champion of Champions events abroad with great curiosity and excitement. It is very exciting that an event like this is being attempted in Turkey too. It is an event that brings together competitors from different disciplines of motorsport. The Champion of Champions should be seen not as a competition but as a show and a motorsport festival. I am very happy and excited to be part of an event like this and to add value to it. I hope that in the coming years the Champion of Champions in Turkey will reach the level of its international counterparts.

CAN TOLON - V1 CHALLENGE
I would like to thank the federation for organising a Champion of Champions after a long break and giving drivers the chance to compete under fair and equal conditions. It will be a real arena.

ALİ TÜRKKAN - KARTING
It is a wonderful feeling to take the start in an event where such important drivers are competing. I thank our federation for the invitation. I hope it will be a weekend that both we and the spectators enjoy.

YİĞİT YALÇIN - YUSUF ARAMACI CUP
I think the Champion of Champions and the other events organised by our federation are wonderful for the future of the sport, and I wish success to all the competitors taking part.

LEVENT KOCABIYIK - CIRCUIT RACING
I expect the Champion of Champions to be a motorsport feast for spectators, bringing together competitors who are successful in their own fields across many different motorsport disciplines. I hope it will be extremely enjoyable for everyone who takes part and everyone who watches. I have no doubt that repeating it every year, as is done around the world, will help motorsport become better known and loved in Turkey. I wish everyone plenty of fun.

GERÇEK SUNMAN - HISTORIC RALLY
I find any activity aimed at socialising within motorsport very useful. In that respect, this event, which I expect to be multi-disciplinary and to have a fairground atmosphere, is a very sound idea. Some may have different views on the choice of İzmir, but given that the volcanic rock is there and the weather conditions, I think İzmir is the right choice too.

EMRAH ALİ BAŞO - RALLY
The Champion of Champions was a complete surprise for us, and I believe it will give the sport a new dimension and increase the interest of sponsors and spectators. This event is a tremendous piece of work by our TOSFED president and fellow countryman Serkan Yazıcı and his team, and I thank everyone involved for giving us this opportunity. I wish all competitors success.

KUZEY EROLDU - CIRCUIT RACING
I am sure that, with the performances of the participants, we will have a weekend full of competition and enjoyment at the Champion of Champions. The talent and quality of the competitors taking part make this weekend even more exciting. Seeing such good events from our federation makes us competitors happy and encourages us to keep going in this sport. We want to see great events like this every year.

UĞUR SOYLU - RALLY
I think this season will have the best season opener to date, thanks to this tremendous event. I think we will have a very enjoyable weekend with all our fellow competitors, in an atmosphere of both rivalry and friendship. We invite everyone to İzmir, to the Ülkü race track, to follow this excitement first-hand. I wish success to everyone taking part, and I thank everyone involved and the TOSFED management.

HAKAN ERTARMAN - HILL CLIMB
At the end of a difficult and tiring 2016 season in which we became hill climb champions in our category, the Champion of Champions will be a great opportunity for us to test ourselves against our friends who race in the circuit category. In that regard, thanks to everyone involved in putting the event together...

BURCU ÇETİNKAYA - RALLY
Racing outside rallying is unfamiliar to me and I don't actually get the same enjoyment from it. Even in the rallies where I have been most successful, my performance on the circuit-format spectator stages was poor. But I have never been a coward and I have always believed in the fight. The Champion of Champions will be hard for me, both because I am rusty and because of the character of the race. But I am very happy, I am ready, and may the best one win. I think it will be a magnificent event for the spectators and the sport. I thank the entire TOSFED team, led by President Serkan Yazıcı.

AHMET KESKİN - YUSUF ARAMACI CUP
It is clear that it will be a superbly organised weekend, exciting from start to finish, and it is a joy to be part of an event like this. I wish success to everyone...
