Retro Rally Exhibition Opens

The Retro Rally exhibition, which sheds light on the history of rallying in Turkey, has opened to visitors at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in memory of the late Koç Holding Chairman Mustafa V. Koç.
Telling the story of rallying in Turkey, a sport that interested Koç in his youth, by displaying 25 cars belonging to 18 drivers, the exhibition will welcome visitors from 1 June to 30 December.
The exhibition introduces the champions produced over the half-century since rallying became known in Turkey from the late 1960s, along with their cars, and is dedicated to Mustafa V. Koç, who worked tirelessly to make the sport known in Turkey.
Planning and preparation for the Retro Rally Exhibition began during Koç's lifetime and were completed after his passing. It features 25 different cars, with model years ranging from 1968 to 2006, belonging to 18 drivers devoted to the sport, from Renç Koçibey to Serdar Bostancı, Nejat Avcı to Cem Hakko, Ali Karacan to Volkan Işık, and İskender Atakan to Serkan Yazıcı.
The exhibition is supported by Opet, Ford, Fiat, Opel, Pirelli, Allianz, LG, Norm Cıvata, Beyçelik Gestamp, Martur, Power Grup and Number 1, and visitors will be greeted by the Ford Sierra Cosworth in which Koç won the 1991 Rallycross Championship.
As well as period rally posters, time cards and pacenotes that shed light on Turkish rally history, the exhibition displays the drivers' championship trophies, overalls, helmets, racing boots and racing gloves, and also features life-size photo cut-outs of the famous drivers who own the cars. To give visitors an interactive experience throughout the exhibition, a rally simulator will also be available.
