Long-Awaited Gravel Hill Climb Heads to Bornova

The 2018 Izmir Cup comes to a close on Sunday 4 November with the Işıkkent Hill Climb, organised by Aydın Automobile Sports Club (AYOSK) in Bornova with Ege Asal Metal as sponsor.

Run on a 2,500-metre gravel course, the event begins with scrutineering at 09:00 on Sunday morning, followed by practice runs between 11:00 and 12:10. The competitive runs, two in total, will take place between 13:15 and 16:15, with the prize-giving ceremony at 17:00 concluding the event.
AYOSK President Mithat Diker noted that last season's gravel hill climb, the first to be held for a long time, generated great excitement among motorsport fans and drivers. He said that this year's second Işıkkent Hill Climb could produce surprise results because of the difficult seasonal conditions.
Bahadır Sevinç arrives at the final round of the Izmir Cup with the Category 3 season title already secured. The battle for second in this category will be between Erdal Oral and Levent Şapcılar. In Category 2, Cem Doğrular has already guaranteed the title. Going into the finale, Engin Berkan is second and Merve Akyıldız third. In Category 1, Tolga Tezeken has already clinched the title. The fight for second place in the Izmir Cup will be between Fatih Yavuz, Mustafa Nazik, Mithat Diker and Yüksel Duvarcı.
