Autocross Cup Gets Under Way at Menderes

Round 1 of the local 9 Eylül Autocross Cup will be organised by the Aydın Automobile Sports Club on Sunday 10 May at the Menderes Autocross Track, located within the Ege Asal Motor Sport Rally Centre.

The 1st Menderes Autocross Race will be held on an 800-metre track with a mixed dirt and concrete surface, starting with scrutineering between 10:00 and 11:00. The event continues with practice and qualifying between 12:10 and 13:30, before the five-lap race runs between 14:10 and 15:30. The opening autocross race of the season in the 9 Eylül Cup will close with a prize-giving ceremony at 16:30.

Commenting on the event at the autocross track, which was brought to the district as part of Menderes Municipality's sporting initiatives, AYOSK President Kuvvet Erim said: "We are proud to be organising a cup like this in the Aegean region. The first round of the Cup will host thrilling battles across four different categories. On Sunday 10 May, the drivers will fight non-stop on a dusty and demanding track, and I invite motorsport enthusiasts to enjoy watching a race in a picnic atmosphere."

The Menderes Autocross Track, where the autocross race will take place, is located within the Ege Asal Motor Sport Rally Training Centre, on the right-hand side at the entrance to Kısıkköy, 6.5 km after the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport junction in the direction of Torbalı.
