Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport finished second overall and first in its class at the 3H Endurance Champions Cup round in Rijeka, Croatia, returning home from its first-ever visit to the country with a significant result. The team has now raced in 18 countries, and the class win moves it into the class lead of the 3H Endurance Champions Cup with two rounds remaining.
The third round of the season, held at the Rijeka circuit in Croatia on 11-12 June, proved extremely demanding for teams and drivers, with heavy rain falling throughout the weekend. Starting the race with national team drivers İbrahim Okyay, Aytaç Biter and Kaan Gürgenç, BOM set the fourth-fastest time overall and the fastest in its class in qualifying, earning a start from the second pen. Over the three hours, the BOM drivers each took a one-hour stint in the BMW Z4 GT3 and crossed the line second overall and first in class, picking up important points for the cup.
After the race, team principal İbrahim Okyay said: "Our next race will be on 26 June at the Körfez circuit. We have a very busy racing programme this season, and I believe all the drivers have found a good rhythm with our new BMW Z4 GT3." He added: "At Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport, we choose Shell V-Power Nitro+, Shell's best-performance fuel, and Shell Helix Ultra engine oils developed with PurePlus Technology. Shell V-Power Nitro+ reduces friction in engine components, allowing more power to be delivered to the wheels. Shell Helix, the first engine oil made from natural gas, keeps engines clean, extends engine life and boosts engine performance, contributing to our success on the race track."
