Off-Road Season Opens in Ankara

The opening round of the 2019 Turkish Off-road Championship will be hosted by the Ankara Offroad Club (ANDOFF), a long-standing pillar of the off-road community, on 16-17 March at Mühye in Ankara's Çankaya district.
Close to 40 crews from different provinces are expected to take part in the event, which gets under way at 12:30 on Saturday 16 March with the forest stage named after Ulu Önder Gazi Mustafa Kemal. After the stage has been tackled three times, the first day of the tough contest will come to a close. The 1.5-kilometre Ata Motors Spectator Stage on Sunday 17 March starts at 10:00. Each crew will complete three laps of this stage, which will be run four times during the day and promises plenty of excitement and adrenaline for spectators.
With motorsport fans in Ankara expected to turn out in force as usual, the crews will be fighting tooth and nail to get through stages packed with demanding obstacles without a mistake and beat their rivals to the trophy.
Kemal Şahin, who took over as ANDOFF president following the recent general assembly and will compete in the event himself, said ahead of the race that the team had been working flat out on the organisation. He thanked all the stakeholders who have given their help and effort, and wished every competitor success.
