Lassa V1 Season Opens at Körfez

The Lassa V1 Challenge, which opens its season at Körfez Race Track on Saturday 9 May, has become the best-supported single-make cup in Turkish history this year, with 22 competitors taking part. Volkan Işık said: "Growing competition and spectacle await us. All 22 competitive drivers will be racing to be the best this season and to win the prize money. As it begins its fifth year, V1 has managed to become a better-known, more widely watched and more popular organisation. This year will be one of the best seasons for Lassa V1."

All the Drivers Are Real Contenders

Among the 22 names accepted into Lassa V1, former V1 champions Can Tolon, Burak Çukurova and Yağız Avcı are once again very much in the mix. Drivers who have taken podium finishes in previous seasons, such as Koray Muratoğlu, Göksun Erkek and Dağhan Ünlüdoğan, are also expected to challenge for the lead.

Young drivers who have come up through V2 Challenge, V1 Challenge's second tier, namely Toprak Candan, Ayhancan Güven, Ali Türkkan and Kadir Akça, will race to be contenders in both the juniors' class and the overall classification.

In the Master Cup, the rivalry between Özgür Gür and Burak Ertem continues, and they will be joined by Burak Sohtorik, Bahadır Durukan and Önder Erdem.

TL 10,000 Prize Money for the Winner of Every Race

Another factor that will add to the excitement in V1 is the prize money! In Lassa V1, Turkey's first championship with prize money, the prize fund has been increased this year, and it has been announced that TL 10,000 will be awarded to the winner of every race, TL 4,000 to second place and TL 2,000 to third place.

The first race will be held at İzmit Körfez Circuit on 9 May and will be broadcast live on NTV Spor from 15:00.
