Off-Road Fun on the Snow

The Sarıkamış Winter Games, held since 2013, will take place for the fourth time this year on 18-19 February in the Sarıkamış district of Kars. Staged with the support of the Sarıkamış District Governorship, Sarıkamış Municipality and the Serhat Development Agency (SERKA), the event stands out for hosting the first and only off-road race held on snow in Turkey.

Each day of the festival, which will run for three days, will feature a wide range of activities in a single area, including a local off-road race, radio-controlled car races, downhill bike demonstrations/races, ski and snowboard demonstrations, sledding races, snowball fights, igloo building, downhill cheese rolling and blind man's buff in cars.

The local off-road race, the first off-road event of the season, will be organised by the EKSİ 36 club. It will start at 10:00 on Saturday 18 February and finish at 12:39 after three stages. The second day will again start at 10:00 on Sunday morning, 19 February, and end at 11:10 after two special stages. Off-road competitors from many different provinces across the country will take part, and as last year, crews from the TRNC will also join the race.
