Women Take to the Track in Izmir

Atlantis, a leading brand in the gold and jewellery sector, is staging a significant event in honour of International Women's Day on 8 March, aiming once again to highlight the strength of Turkish women across the world and to support their achievements. Themed "The Power of Turkish Women", the event will once more showcase the strength, struggle and success of Turkish women in every field. Taking place on Sunday 6 March between 10:00 and 15:00, the event will see female drivers from Izmir compete and demonstrate their skills in motorsport.

Atlantis Chairman of the Board Kamil Karakaş said: "Our women are extremely valuable. They bring us into this world, raise us and put up with all our troubles. We must do everything we can so that all women live in the best possible conditions. We must support them to succeed in every field and keep motivating them. I am sure that with more of their contribution and strength, the world will become a better place to live. Wherever women have had a hand, you can be sure that place will be more developed, more orderly, more liveable, happier, more loving and stronger. Our aim with this event is, in particular, to draw attention once more to how successful and strong Turkish women are in every field. We have all known the strength of Turkish women, who have been an example to the world, since the past. In our country's War of Independence, our mothers and women carried ammunition, weapons and provisions to the front, and there were even women who took up arms and fought themselves. We are all descended from them. This year, under the theme of Strong Turkish Women, we have brought together female drivers from Izmir and organised a car race at Izmir Park. Our aim is to draw attention once more to the strength of Turkish women and, by supporting these exemplary women, to help ensure that many more strong and successful Turkish women emerge in every field. We invite everyone to this event to support these strong Turkish women, each of whom has achieved a certain level of success, to applaud them wholeheartedly and to share their excitement."

At the event, in which 25 female drivers will race against the clock on the Izmir Park circuit, the top three finishers will receive special gifts from Atlantis.
