Corsa OPC Cup Heads to the Track

The 2017 season of the Opel Corsa OPC Cup, organised by Safari Motorsport and sponsored by Petlas, Opel, AutoClub Türkiye, CMS, EcuFast Chip Tuning and PWR Balata, gets under way on 13-14 May.

Safari Motorsport has been running single-make cups in Turkey since 1994, and 15 Corsa OPCs will line up for the season opener at the TOSFED Körfez Race Circuit on 13-14 May.

The cup consists of six rounds, run on the same dates as the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, and some of the most ambitious and experienced drivers will battle fiercely for the podium.

In the first event of the season, qualifying and Race 1 will take place on Saturday 13 May, with Race 2 on Sunday 14 May. The 230bhp Corsa OPC race cars, prepared by Neo Motorsport, will be driven by quick names including Ali Başakıncı, Turgut Konukoğlu, Ramazan Kaya, Alkan Güven, Mehmet Ali Baldaner, Artuğ Aysal and Jordan Dupont.

Safari Motorsport Director Hakan Dinç said: “Last year was a year of getting to know the cars, both for us and for our drivers. This season we have fixed our shortcomings and prepared in a better and stronger way. I hope it will be a successful season for everyone.”
