Caterhams Hit the Track

The BOM Akademi Cup, which completed its first season with the 2015-2016 Winter Cup, returns in 2017 as a new cup made up of four rounds and eight races, with each team able to enter one or two drivers. The cup, in which Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport shares the experience gained from its national and international successes to date, will get under way on 13-14 May at TOSFED Körfez Race Track, on the same weekend as the opening round of the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, in a format of two 15-lap sprint races.

Returning to Turkish circuits after a long break, the races will see 19 drivers go head to head, using 12 Caterham race cars and Yokohama A021R racing tyres.

The remaining races of the cup will take place on 3 June at İzmit Körfez Circuit, on 10 September and on 28-29 October at Izmir Ülkü Park Race Track.
