BEYOFF Takes On Social Responsibility Project

In spring, when nature comes back to life and everywhere turns green and bursts into colourful blooms, the Beykoz Off-road Club BEYOFF took the orphaned children of the Yakacık Children's Home out of their home and on a picnic in the pine forests.
On Sunday 24 May 2015, BEYOFF members gathered with many off-road groups and drove their vehicles to the Yakacık Children's Home. The 90 books they brought, sponsored by Alfa Yayınları, were handed over to the home's management. The 30 vehicles then parked in the home's garden and, one after another, took the 52 children living there and their teacher as guests, heading to the Kayışdağı Çamlık picnic area. A small-scale off-road drive with the children brought the convoy to the picnic area. Camping tables and chairs were taken out of the boots and one big table was set up. The food, brought with the sponsorship of Coşkun Sucukları, Özma Unlu Mamuller and Hakan Avcuoğlu (By Hakan), was cooked over a huge barbecue fire with the cooperation of all the clubs and served to the children.
During the day, the children took part in a sack race, a tug-of-war using the ropes that are an inseparable part of off-road crews, and football and volleyball matches. The 52 kites that Duster Adventure Team brought for the children were assembled together and sent up into the sky. Everyone played and had fun with the children throughout the day.
BEYOFF club president Zafer Togay said: "What I love most about the off-road community is how responsive it is to social responsibility projects. This attitude and sensitivity makes us very happy. Many different groups come together and stand shoulder to shoulder when there is a good event like this. Thanks to these events, we get to know more people and can come up with ideas for even better projects. We thank all the participants very much for giving the orphaned children a different kind of day together. These events happen because of you. Everyone lends a hand and a really beautiful picture emerges. We hope to come together again for even better events in the future. As a club, we make a point of supporting the social responsibility projects organised by other clubs, and we see that the other clubs are by our side too. That is very honouring…"
The children, who had played and enjoyed themselves all day, were put back into the vehicles in the early evening and delivered to their home. The children stepping out of the vehicles in the home's garden looked tired, but their faces were full of smiles. All participants parted wishing to meet again at similar events...
