Baja Troia Named Candidate for European Cup Status

Baja Troia Türkiye, organised by the İstanbul Offroad Club (İSOFF) with the support of the Çanakkale Governorship, Çanakkale Municipality and Bayramiç Municipality, has been granted candidate event status for the European Cross-Country Cup by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Baja Troia Türkiye is a round of the Eastern European Off-road Series, which has run since 2017 and comprises four events this year. It will take place from 21-25 September 2022 on spectacular stages amid Çanakkale's scenic and historic riches. If it is completed successfully, the event will become an official round of the 2023 FIA Cross Country Baja European Cup, and will be run over a route with a total length of 950 kilometres. TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı expressed his delight that Baja Troia Türkiye, one of the key events in the baja discipline, which has been a rising star of off-road in recent years, has become a candidate for the European Cup. He said the development was an important asset for sports tourism, following Formula 1 and the World Rally Championship.
