Ayhancan Narrowly Misses Out on Podium

At the third race weekend of the 2023 season of the German Touring Car Championship, known as the DTM, on the Norisring street circuit, our national driver Ayhancan Güven produced his best performance in the series so far. After starting Saturday's race from third on the grid, Ayhancan got a very good start and moved up to second. Although our representative rejoined the race in the lead after his pit stop, cold tyres cost the driver positions, and the first race ended in fifth place, just five seconds behind the winner. Starting Sunday's second race from fifth on the grid, Güven made a superb start and climbed to third at the first corner. In the later laps, a problem during the pit stop earned Ayhancan a penalty, dropping the Red Bull driver back to eighth. Having missed the podium at the last moment after getting so close, Ayhancan still managed to take 19 points from the weekend.
