Ayhancan Makes History in France

Having become the first foreign driver to win the 31-year-old Porsche Carrera Cup France series in 2018, Ayhancan Güven has now achieved another proud milestone by winning the championship for the second year in a row.
Racing for Almeras by Martinet with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, Spor Toto and the Turkish Motorsport Federation, the 21-year-old national driver Ayhancan Güven won the final race at Paul Ricard in France on 12-13 October, had the Turkish national anthem played on the podium and retained the title with a second championship.
Starting from first place in the opening race of the weekend, Turkey's representative left pointless after a rear tyre puncture, but then took pole position for Sunday's second race with a new track record in qualifying. Dominating the entire race and driving a strategic race, Ayhancan did not give up the lead to anyone over 14 laps and secured the title.
Ayhancan will take to the track at Mexico City on 26-27 October for the Porsche Supercup final, and will then compete at Vallelunga in Italy on 1-3 November with Salih Yoluç, aiming to win the FIA Nations Cup for Turkey as they did last year.
