Ayhancan Steadily Moving Up

Three Turkish drivers represented our country in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland race held at Germany's Nürburgring circuit on 9-10 July. Competing with technical support from Tok Sport WRT, Ayhancan Güven achieved one of the best results of his career over a weekend that featured 52 drivers from different countries and fierce competition from start to finish. The 18-year-old young national driver Ayhancan Güven finished the Porsche Sports Cup sprint race on Saturday 9 July fifth in his class and ninth overall. Another of our national drivers, Ümit Ülkü, finished eighth in class and 16th overall, while Bilal Saygılı, who began racing on European circuits for the first time this season, took the chequered flag 18th in class and 36th overall. After the race, Ayhancan Güven received a time penalty for a yellow flag infringement and dropped to 10th in the 991 GT3 Cup class.
In the second sprint race on Sunday 10 July, Ayhancan Güven started 10th and managed to finish fifth in his class and ninth overall. Ümit Ülkü finished sixth in class and 13th overall, while Bilal Saygılı was 15th in class and 23rd overall, after which the 100-minute endurance race was run.
