Avcıoğlu Joins FIA Women in Motorsport Commission

The FIA Women in Motorsport Commission (WIM) held its first meeting of 2016 at FIA headquarters in Geneva.

Chaired by Michele Mouton, the celebrated women's rally driver of the 1980s, the meeting was attended by around 25 representatives and opened in the commission's seventh year with the new members introducing themselves.

Beyza Avcıoğlu, a member of the TOSFED Women's Committee, 1980 Turkish Rally Co-Driver Champion and 1990 Turkish Women's Rally Champion, took part in the meeting as one of the commission's new members.

The agenda was dominated by the Sealine Cross Country selection in Qatar, which featured female drivers chosen through qualifying rounds across Europe, and plans and projects for 2016 were also shared.
