9 September Cup Continues

The second round of the 9 September Cup, organised by Aydın Automobile Sports Club to encourage the region's Aegean competitors, takes place on Sunday 14 June at the Izmir Menderes Autocross Track.

The Menderes track, which will host the Klaros Autocross Race, is 800 metres long in total, 150 metres of it concrete and 650 metres dirt. The event takes its name from Klaros, an ancient site near the village of Menderes-Ahmetbeyli with high cultural value and resource potential.

The Klaros Autocross Race will be held at the autocross track brought to the district as part of Menderes Municipality's sports projects. It begins with scrutineering between 10:00 and 11:00, followed by practice and qualifying between 12:10 and 13:30. The five-lap race will be run between 14:10 and 15:30. The second autocross race of the season in the 9 September Cup will close with the prize-giving ceremony at 16:30.

AYOSK President Kuvvet Erim said they are working hard to bring success to motorsport in the Aegean region: "With the contributions of Menderes Municipality and Ege Asal Metal, we are putting on fine events. Through the sporting events we organise, we are also raising Menderes' profile nationally. To motivate the competitors of our region and to show them support, I invite motorsport enthusiasts to our race on Sunday 14 June."

Ahead of the Klaros Autocross, the leaders in the 9 September Cup are Tolga Tezeken in Category 1, Erdal Oral in Category 2, Kemal Şener in Category 3 and Yonca Güngör in the Ladies' class.
