Six Turkish Drivers Head to Mugello This Weekend

Having started 301 races across 4 continents, 20 countries and 32 different circuits since its foundation, finishing 295 of them and winning 15 championship titles along the way, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) will celebrate its 10th year on the circuits in the 2017 season.

With national drivers İbrahim Okyay, Aytaç Biter, Kaan Gürgenç, Levent Kocabıyık and Fatih Ayhan, the team will compete at Mugello, Brno, Misano, Imola and Vallelunga in 2017, and will begin the season with a new motto for a Turkish racing team: "We are going not just to become champions, but to defend our championship."

Mutlubas_Gedik_GermirliIn addition, Gedik Ebam Motorsport will be another Turkish team competing in the five-round 3H Endurance Champions Cup. Making its first appearance on European circuits this year, the İzmir-based team will take to the track in these three-hour races with Ahmet Mutlubaş, Yağız Gedik and Ayhan Germirli at the wheel of a BMW Z4 GT3.

The BOM and Gedik Ebam teams will take the first start of the season at the Mugello Circuit in Italy on 7-8 April, aiming for the podium in an endurance series that last season saw 44 drivers from 6 countries compete, and in which BOM won both its class and the overall classification to take the title.
