Ege Asal Motorspor Women Claim One-Two at Yenipazar

Ege Asal Motorspor took part in the Yenipazar Autocross with five drivers. A total of 21 drivers competed at the event, held at the Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate Yenipazar Motorsports Centre.

Mithat Diker, who has now completed 52 years on the racing circuits, took second place and a podium finish through experience, despite mechanical problems with the car, as in the last two races.Özgür Şenyüz retired from the opening round with a mechanical failure. Levent Şapçılar, driving a Ford Fiesta R5, put on a show for the spectators during the practice laps, but was unable to start the race after the car's water pump failed.

In autocross, it was the team's women drivers who put the smiles on faces. In the women's class, Hilal Olgun finished first on 35 points to take the podium's top step. Team-mate Hasania Aktaş finished on the same points and took second place on the podium on countback.

The team's two women drivers finishing first and second on the same points made team director Mithat Diker extremely happy.
