Team Mobil 1 Crowned Trial Champions

The seventh and final round of the 2016 Turkish Trial Championship was held on 5-6 November 2016 in Riva, Istanbul, organised by the Beykoz Offroad Club, known by its abbreviation BEYOFF.

On a course prepared specially for the event, the competition was run over two different stages, with two vehicles starting at the same time. Teams made up of two vehicles and four competitors had to complete the event in tough terrain by supporting one another, and the two days produced some superb battles. On Saturday 5 November the Kayalar stage, made up of 10 gates, and on Sunday 6 November the Kamperest stage saw the teams fight it out over demanding obstacles, providing exciting moments for off-road fans.

A total of nine teams started the event, with eight managing to complete it. At the end of the two-day event, Avc–Osmanlı Team, made up of the crews of Oğuz Kağan Öztürk–Emin Ali Özgedik and Andan Ofluoğlu–Selçuk Akan, took the win. Team Mobil 1, comprising the crews of Ertan Uçar–Berat Atagün and Şencan Özkurt–Fuat Sarper, finished second, while Magnum Motorsport, made up of Onur Kırayoğlu–Oktay Gündoğdu and Emir Ay–İhsan Pekayla, took third place. With the points from this second place, Team Mobil 1 finished the season as the 2016 Turkish Trial Champions.
The event began on Saturday with a "Give Blood, Give Life" appeal at the mobile Red Crescent (Kızılay) centre at the competition site and ended with the awards ceremony on Sunday evening. In addition to the Red Crescent, guests of the Spinal Cord Paralysed Association (Omurilik Felçliler Derneği) were also able to watch the event from a dedicated area. At the end of the event, the champions received their trophies from Beykoz Municipality Deputy Mayor Muharrem Kaşıtoğlu and Beykoz District Youth Services and Sports Director Bülent Küçük, both of whom played a major part in the organisation.
