The Financial General Assembly of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) was held in Ankara on Sunday 25 November. Of the 200 delegates, 103 attended the general assembly, which took place at the Meyra Palace Hotel. TOSFED Financial General Assembly HeldThe general assembly opened with a speech by TOSFED Acting President Eren Üçlertoprağı and, once the presiding committee had been formed, moved on to the items on the agenda. After the federation's management, audit and activity reports for 2017 and 2018 were approved, the financial general assembly also adopted the estimated budgets for 2019 and 2020. TOSFED Financial General Assembly HeldTOSFED President Serkan Yazıcı began his speech to the financial general assembly by explaining that the investments and renovation work at the TOSFED Körfez Circuit had made the track more modern and practical, and that important steps had been taken towards developing facilities in other provinces. President Yazıcı said: "We brought the World Rally Championship back to our country after an eight-year gap and, with a highly successful organisation, earned the admiration of everyone from competitors to the authorities and spectators. I would like to thank the President of Turkey, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, and the other officials for their support in bringing this event to Turkey." Yazıcı also noted that many young drivers had been discovered through the TOSFED Is Looking for Its Star project, and said he believed that initiatives of this kind would produce very good drivers. "We are supporting our drivers at international level. In this regard, Ayhancan Güven will be a champion of the future. Our 20-year-old driver has proved his ability by winning the Porsche Carrera Cup championship in France, something no foreign driver had achieved until now."TOSFED Financial General Assembly HeldFinally, Yazıcı announced that work on the 2019 regulations and calendar had begun, and concluded by saying that the federation was working on various projects to get teams involved in other disciplines as well, and that its support and incentives for drivers and clubs would continue into the new term.
